Chief Medicine Crow was born around 1848. For over 20 years he was an active warrior and member of the Knobbed Sticks warrior society. In 1876 he led the Crow Scouts who fought for the U.S. Army against the Sioux at the Battles of the Rosebud and Little Big Horn. After the wars, he became a farmer and Tribal Judge. Chief Medicine Crow died in 1902 and is buried in the Valley of Chieftains in the Little Big Horn Area. Original oil on canvas by Ron Rundo (b.1960), signed lower right. 36" x 48"
