T.L. Pruett maker marked Prattville, Alabama on either sides of tang. T. L. Pruett was a blacksmith in Prattville, who served in the 56th Alabama Cavalry. Identified in "Confederate Bowie Knives" by Melton, Phillips & Sexton, to have made D-Guard bowie knives, even rare to have mounted in brass. This extremely rare Custom-made personal Bowie example features a full brass handle with Patriotic Great Seal motif. Bowie clip point blade measures 1.75" x 9.5", overall length 13.5".
