Serial #5384. Original factory engraving by Samuel J. Hoggson on the receiver and buttplate. Hoggson performed most of the engraving work for New Haven Arms Company on earlier Henry Rifles. The rifle is floral engraved, with the left sideplate engraved with dog hunt scene. Original German silver front sight. "H" mark is stamped in lower tang, serial number found at the top rear of the barrel. Assembly number 579 is clearly found under the loading sleeve. Cloverleaf buttplate, Deluxe walnut buttstock, scalloped buttplate indicates this may be a "one-of-a-kind" rifle, as stated in provenance letter. 23" barrel, .44 caliber. Exceptional condition considering age and use. Provenance: WY.A copy of a Letter of Authenticity from Rob Kassab, former director and president of Winchester Arms Collectors Association.
